Paul Turner brings expertise from a lifelong career in the petrochemical sector

Swindon, 21st December 2018 – Recycling Technologies Ltd, specialists in feedstock recycling of residual plastic waste, today announced a new appointment to its Board. Paul Turner, Managing Director of Marcian Ltd, a privately owned advisory company to leaders in the plastics and chemical sectors, joins as non-executive board director, effective immediately.
Paul is an exceptionally experienced senior executive in the petrochemical industry and has worked with some of the largest chemical companies in the world including LyondellBasell, Borealis and The Dow Chemical Company.
An influential customer-focused senior executive, Paul brings a wealth of commercial acumen, vast strategic and operational leadership and an excellent track record which includes managing a $6bn sales revenue, leading large cross-functional teams and restructuring business units to achieve profitability. Most recently, Paul was Chairman of the Polyolefins Group within PlasticsEurope, where he assumed a leadership role in the formation of PCEP, a new value chain initiative to drive the circular economy for the Polyolefin plastics consumer packaging industry.
Commenting on his new appointment Paul Turner says: “I am incredibly excited about the opportunity that Recycling Technologies presents and believe that my extensive chemical and plastics industry expertise will be extremely beneficial to the leadership team. Now in the midst of a second crowdfund which has already gone over its minimum target, I can see the huge potential of the company as it starts to build its fleet of 12 machines, starting with the first commercial RT7000 in Scotland next year. I am keen to get started and realise the pivotal role that Recycling Technologies is playing, helping to drive the sustainability of the petrochemical sector.”
Paul’s other roles included the global business integration lead for LyondellBasell’s most recent multi-billion dollar acquisition, as well as vice president of sales for LyondellBasell in The Netherlands and vice president of combined operations for LyondellBasell in Germany. Prior to these roles, Paul was vice president of global business operations at Borealis, where he was responsible for transforming the global business engineering applications unit. He was also appointed Chairman of the Board for the operations in Brazil, a joint venture with Braskem.
