Beacon of hope for recycling as major funding agreement signed on plastics plant

Zero Waste Scotland News Centre, Press Releases

Today on Good Morning Scotland, BBC Radio, Jim Brown of Binn Group was talking about what his company is doing, turning wastes into resources and diverting more from landfill. Currently residual waste is turned into SRF, solid recovered fuel, and is being shipped from Dundee to Europe for use in the cement kiln industry.

In the future, Binn Eco Park will bring together Pi-Polymers and Recycling Technologies for recycling plastics… Recycling Technologies is a chemical solution taking the unrecyclable plastics back to an oil called Plaxx.

To ensure that all plastics in the system are recycled and we are hopeful that as much as 90% of plastic waste will be recycled.
