Seeking investment to enter growth phase

Swindon, 7th November 2017 – Swindon-based Recycling Technologies has been invited by BEIS UK, as a recipient of the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, to exhibit at INNOVATE 2017, Birmingham. Innovate 2017 is a leading UK innovation exhibition which showcases the most cutting edge advances from businesses across the country.

Recycling Technologies recycles the ‘unrecyclable’ and is a specialist in the chemical recycling of mixed plastic into Plaxx® from which more virgin-quality plastic can be produced. The company has recently won the award for ‘Best Plastic Recycled Product’ at the Plastic Industry Awards for its Plaxx® product.

Since 2013 Recycling Technologies has gained £4.4 million in grant funding and £5 million in private investment, to help fuel the development of the company, its technology and its pilot plant. Now Recycling Technologies is looking for investment to support its early growth phase and the mass production of its modular transportable machines. Interest in this game-changing technology is strong, from both waste sites looking for cost-effective means to meet their recycling obligations and polymer producers and wax traders, looking to add recycled content in their products.

Adrian Griffiths, CEO Recycling Technologies, comments: “Recycling Technologies has a tremendous opportunity to change the narrative for waste plastic globally. Plastic is a fantastic material with great environmental credentials, until it reaches its “end of life”. We are all distressed at the economic loss and growing environmental damage associated with waste plastic. Our technology can change this, by making waste plastic valuable. We have the machine, an incredible team and now we need the investment to scale the solution and make a real difference”.

Innovate UK Chief Executive Ruth McKernan said: “Innovate 2017 will be an excellent opportunity for Recycling Technologies to showcase its cutting edge process and solution to a national and international audience. I congratulate Recycling Technologies on its success in winning a place at this event alongside BEIS UK and look forward to its involvement in our annual flagship event.”

Over the two days, 8th and 9th November, Innovate 2017 brings the brightest and boldest of UK creators and entrepreneurs together to share and inspire investors, individuals and governments to tackle some of the biggest global challenges.
